Trevor Tomlinson - Barton BC

It is with great sadness that we have to inform you that Trevor Tomlinson passed away on Friday 24th July. Trevor was a long-standing and respected member of Barton Bowling Club, serving as President and playing for many teams. He was well-liked and will be missed greatly. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this sad time. For anyone wishing to attend, the funeral will be held on 14th August at 11.30 am at St Lawrence`s Church, Barton.

PRESIDENT'S DAY AT WOODPLUMPTON BOWLING CLUB

The League President`s Day Competition was won by Simon Hargreaves (Woodplumpton B) who beat Andrew Schurok (Ashton A) 21-11. In the semi-finals, Simon beat Craig Atkinson (Hurst Green A) 21-15 and Andrew beat Joe Davis (Scorton B) 21-20.

DOUBLES DAY AT ELSWICK BOWLING CLUB

The League Doubles Day Competition was won by Tom Lawrenson and Gary Saville (Goose Green) who beat Harry Fleetwood and Alan Davies (Parkfield Labour) 21-13. In the semi-finals, Tom and Gary beat John Barton and John Holden (Whittingham B) 21-15 and Harry and Alan beat Darryl Cross and Phil Roycroft (Roebuck FTs) 21-19.

Parking at Garstang Subscription Club

Garstang Subscription Bowling Club advises that parking is not permitted on the private car park owned by Garstang Community Sports Club. (ie. the tennis/football club entrance) The owners rent the spaces out and need them to be kept free at all times. Th ere re is a public car park off the High Street and an entrance to the club from there. Charges apply. Message from Joan Rothwell (Club Secretary).

Harry Singleton

It is with great sadness that Harry died peacefully on Friday night, 27th March 2026 in Royal Preston Hospital. Harry along with his brother Robert were founder members of Whitechapel ; Inglewhite Bowling Club and supported the club in so many ways. Following Roberts death Harry continued being Greens man, Committee member, Club President, Team Captain, Events coordinator, including the Annual Whist ; Domino / Hot Pot Supper event. The list goes on. Harry was a well respected and loved member of the bowling community at home, regionally and as far away as Cyprus. He will be greatly missed. Condolences go to all his family and friends at this sad time. The funeral details will be passed on as soon as they are known.

Owd Nells Tavern T.F. have now moved to The Crown at Garstang. Their fixtures were arranged to play opposite Crown so that there are NO clashes.
