It is with great sadness that we have to inform you that Trevor Tomlinson passed away on Friday 24th July.

Trevor was a long-standing and respected member of Barton Bowling club , serving as President and playing for many teams. He was well liked and will be missed greatly.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this sad time.

For anyone wishing to attend, Trevor's funeral will be held on 14^th August at 11.30 am at St Lawrence’s Church, Barton.

R.I.P. Trevor.

Firstly, our Presentation Lunch is scheduled for Wednesday, 28th October at 1:00 pm at The Cross Keys Inn. We have now confirmed the menu and the cost. To view the menu PLEASE CLICK HERE.

Although we will continue to collect payments at the doubles days, numbers at The Cross Keys Inn will be limited. Therefore, we would appreciate an indication of likely attendance to assist with our planning. We have therefore asked captains to notify us of how many members are expected to attend. At this stage, this is not a firm commitment—we are simply looking to estimate numbers.

Regarding the Mixed Doubles Competition being held at East End BC, the qualifying rounds will take place on Wednesday, 2nd September and Wednesday, 9th September, with the finals being held on Wednesday, 16th September. Please begin submitting your entries to Janet Taylor or John Wilkinson. The closing date for entries is Friday, 21st August.

Finally, we have received three new applications from teams wishing to join the league: Hambleton (2nd Team), Wesham (2nd Team) and Preesall BC (2nd Team). These applications will be discussed and voted on at the AGM. If you are aware of any other teams that may be interested in joining, please encourage them to contact Janet Taylor or any member of the committee.

Congratulations to Carol Darley (Crown) on winning Presidents Day. Runner Up was Dave Darley (Crown).

Semi Finalists were Martin Nicholas (East End) and Ken Medcalfe (Woodplumpton).

A huge thank you to our President Stuart Andrews and everyone at East End BC for hosting the event and making everyone so welcome. We look forward to the end of season doubles.

Garstang Subscription Bowling Club advises that parking is not permitted on the private car park owned by Garstang Community Sports Club. (ie. the tennis/football club entrance).

The owners rent the spaces out and need them to be kept free at all times.

There is a public car park off the High Street and an entrance to the club from there.

Charges apply.
