Betty Hudson passed away early this morning.

Betty was known to many around the LSA bowling circuit and had played for Marine Park, Lowther Gardens and more recently East End.

Sincere condolences to Betty's husband David and their daughters and her sister Marian, who currently plays for East End.

For members who wish to pay their respects to Betty, her funeral will take place on Monday June 22nd at 3.00pm at Lytham Crematorium.

A great finals day for the Mayoress' Trophy with no rain.

The winner was Kath Lee from Lowther Gardens and runner-up was Christine Toft from Hope Street after a very closely run 21-19 game. Well done to both ladies for a great final.

Thank you for everyone who played, supported and generally helped out this week and thank you to East End for hosting and keeping everyone fed and watered.

For this season, please could all captains play these players at number eight position.

Ladies, the season is about to start and one match was played early due to a clash of greens with the men's league. The result was Freckleton B 8 v Lytham 2. On the advice of the NLFCBA, this result will not appear on online bowls until its scheduled July date in order that the numbers of games played remain level for the purposes of tables and league merits etc.

The rest of us start next week and here's hoping for dry nights and some enjoyable and friendly matches. Have fun everyone!
