It is with great sadness to report that Alan Holbrook who played at Barton for several years has recently passed away following a stroke. He previously played at Patten Arms and was well known around the area. For those players/friends who wish to pay their respects, his funeral is at Preston Crematorium on Monday April 14th at 1:30pm with the wake following at Broughton Club.

It is with deep sadness that i have to announce the death of Mike Worthington, Mike played his Bowls at Carleton BC , he was also a former Chairman of the Thornton Cleveleys BL, when he was chairman we always had meetings at his house and were looked after by Mike and his wife Brenda. Linda Traynor
It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Linda Traynor in St Catherine;s Hospice, Preston. Linda, was a past President of NL and FLCBA. She played for the county for many years and was an enthusiastic and valued member of the team. Linda was always very passionate about her bowling career plus being extremely supportive to her fellow team mates. Linda played mainly at Acregate but also had played for Frenchwood and Deepdale Ramblers.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday 1st October at 2.15pm at Preston Crematorium. It is requested for family flowers only and if desired donations to St Catherine;s Hospice. Our sincere condolences go to her loving family and many friends. RIP Linda x

Joe Barlow
Joe Barlow RIP
It is with a heavy heart that we have to announce the Death of Joe Barlow from Layton Inst, Joe was President of the club, he brought the club back from Raikes, he sorted the green out at Layton so could go back, he backed all the Comps with his money, a legend on the Fylde Coast. To Me Joe was Mr Layton Inst/Raikes for what he did for the clubs, will be a hard act to follow. Top Bowler and Gentleman, Our Condolances go out to his Family at this very sad time.
